Day 2 - Explore Melbourne and Car pick up / Melbourne entdecken und Auto abholen

Heute waren wir in Melbourne bei schönstem Wetter unterwegs, einfach nur zum schauen einkaufen. Am Visitors Center haben wir uns Prospekte und Informationen für unsere Tagesausflüge geholt. Dann zu den Victoria Markets essen und durch die Gänge streifen. War toll da und das Essen auch preiswert und lecker.

Ab 16:00 Uhr konnten wir dann unser Auto abholen. Dann passierte natürlich das, was ich eigentlich unbedingt vermeiden wollte: die erste Fahrt mit dem Outlander in der Rush Hour mitten durch die Innenstadt. Hat aber doch geklappt.

Unser erstes Ziel war dann der Aldi in South Yarra. Wir haben ihn dann auch gefunden und uns mit Mineralwasser und ein paar Süßigkeiten eingedeckt. Wir müssen doch endlich mal TimTam probieren. Parken am Hotel könnte die Tage noch ein Problem werden, da die Parkplätze hier begrenzt sind. Wenn alles voll ist hier, muss ich an der Straße einen Platz suchen. Abends haben wir dann noch um die Ecke im Entrecote ganz toll was gegessen. Hat sich gelohnt. Morgen steht eine fahrt nach Ballarat auf dem Plan. Geht einfach darum, uns an das Auto und den Linksverkehr zu gewöhnen. Am späten Nachmittag können wir dann unsere Banking Cards abholen. Hoffentlich finde ich dort einen Parkplatz.

 Today we were in Melbourne with blue skies on the go, simply buy only to look. On Visitors Center, we got brochures and information for our day trips. Then eat at the Victoria Markets and roam the corridors. Was great there and the food was cheap and delicious.

From 16:00 hours we were able to pick up our car. Then of course, this happened, what I really really wanted to avoid: the first trip with the Outlander in the rush hour in the middle of the city center. But has it worked.

Our first goal was then the Aldi in South Yarra. We then found him and stocked up with bottled water and some candy. We must try TimTam. :-)  Parking at the hotel could still be a problem: as long as the parking is limited here. If everything is fully here, I have to look at the street a place. In the evening we ate really great yet around the corner in what Entrecote. It was worth it. Tomorrow is a drive to Ballarat on the plan. Just go about to get used to the car and left-hand traffic. In the late afternoon we can pick up our banking cards. Hopefully I find parking in front of the bank.
