Day 1 - Arrival /Ankunft

Sicher und wohlbehalten angekommen

So, nach einem langen, problemlosen Flug (mit einer Stunde Verspätung in Hamburg abgeflogen) sind wir um 06:30 Uhr Ortszeit sicher auf Tullamarine Airport bei strahlendem Himmel und angenehmen Temperaturen gelandet. Die Einreise Formalitäten dauerten auch nicht allzu lang. Mit dem Sky Bus sind wir dann in die Stadt (Southern Cross Station) und wollten dann von dort mit dem Shuttle weiter zum Hotel, wenigsten schon mal das Gepäck abstellen. Am Flughafen hatte uns man gesagt, der Hotel Transfer ist im Preis (18,-AUD/Person) mit drin. Nicht gesagt hatte man uns, dass das nur Hotels in der City betrifft. Also Taxi.

Nach 15 mins kam dann endlich ein Taxi. Der sehr freundliche Taxifahrer legte ein ordentliches Tempo vor. Jetzt hatten wir allerdings kleine Probleme bei der Angabe der Adresse unseres Hotels. Da musste dann doch erst einmal die Taxi Zentrale helfen. und so erreichten wir gegen 10:00 Uhr unserer Hotel.  Der Fahrer war sogar so freundlich, den Taxameter bei 30,-AUD abzustellen.  Wir hatten uns natürlich während der Fahrt unterhalten und erzählt woher wir kamen. Nette Geste.

Wir konnten sogar sofort auf unser Zimmer und erst einmal die Beine ausstrecken. Nach insgesamt 20 Stunden Flug tut das echt gut.

Danach sind wir in die Stadt, Konto Status bei Westpac klären, Geld umtauschen und dann Telefon und Mobile Wifi mit SIM Karten versorgen. War einfach und schnell bei Telstra. Wir mussten sogar nur eine bezahlen, die 2. bekamen wir umsonst. Der Rest des Tages war dannnoch etwas Sightseeing und Abendessen in South Yarra. War lecker. Um 18:00 Uhr waren wir dann allerdings so müde, da ging gar nichts mehr. Aber das hatten wir erwartet. Wird auch noch etwas dauern, bis wir uns angepasst haben.

So, (departed an hour late in Hamburg) after a long, trouble-free flight we landed at 06:30 local time secure on Tullamarine Airport in bright sky and pleasant temperatures. The immigration formalities lasted not too long. With the Sky bus we went into town (Southern Cross Station) and then wanted from there by shuttle next to the hotel. At the airport we were told the hotel shuttle service is included in the price (18, -AUD / person). But they didn't tell us that the only concerns Hotels in the city. So taxi.

After 15 mins then finally came a taxi. The very friendly taxi driver presented a decent pace. Now, however, we had small problems when specifying the address of our hotel. Since then had together on the taxi office help. and so we reached our hotel around 10:00 am. The driver was even kind enough to turn off the meter at 30, -AUD. We talked a little  while driving and told where we came from. Nice gesture.

We were even able to immediately reach out to our room and stretch the legs. After a total of 20 hours of flight doing great.

Then we are in the city, clarify account status at Westpac, exchange money and then provide telephone and Mobile Wifi with SIM cards. Was easy and fast at Telstra. We even had to pay only one Sim Card, the second we got nothing. The rest of the day was doing some sightseeing and dinner in South Yarra. Was delicious. At 18:00 we were so tired, however, because he could not continue. But we expected this. Will takte some time to adapt to local time
