Das war er nun, unser letzter Tag in Australien. Morgen um diese Zeit sitzen wir bereits auf dem Flughafen und warten auf das Boarding. Den Vormittag haben wir damit zugebracht, die Wäsche für das packen vorzubereiten (waschen, bügeln), schon mal aufzuräumen und für morgen das Shuttle zum Flughafen zu bestellen. Am Nachmittag haben wir dann Kerry-Anne und Shane unseren Gegenbesuch abgestattet. Es hat uns gefallen in Noarlunga Downs, keine Frage.
Am Abend sind wir dann ein letztes Mal Essen gewesen, diesmal bei einem Italiener. Wir haben uns wieder einmal getraut, etwas nach der dem Geschmack Australiens zu essen Es war sehr lecker im Amaro. Ich werde sowieso nach der Reise einiges an Bewertungen/Kritiken bei TripAdvisor loswerden müssen. Wir habe ja so einiges erlebt.
Morgen steht dann packen auf dem Plan, das Auto wegbringen und uns verabschieden. Es war ein sehr intensiver Urlaub und wir hoffen, einiges an Emotionen nach Hause mitnehmen zu können. Aber wir kommen ja wieder. Mal sehen, ob meine Autobatterie die 4 Wochen Standzeit in der Kälte überlebt hat. Zur Not muss ich halt Starthilfe organisieren.
Na denn, bis dann. Wir sehen uns in Deutschland wieder.

This was our last day in Australia. Tomorrow at this time we are already sitting in the airport waiting for boarding. The morning we spent with preparing to pack the clothes (washing and ironing). clean up a lttle bit and ordering an shuttle to the airport for tomorrow. In the afternoon we visited Kerry-Anne and Shane. We liked it in Noarlunga Downs, no question.
In the evening we went for the last diner here, this time with an Italian. We have trusted us once again, dining the taste of Australia. It was delicious in Amaro Restaurant. I'll have a lot to get rid of ratings / reviews on TripAdvisor anyway after the trip. We've experienced a lot.
Morning then pack on the plan, the car taken away and say goodbye. It was a very intense holiday and we hope to take some of emotions home. But we shall come back again. Let's see if my car battery has survived the 4 weeks prior cold period. If nit I have to organize a jumpstart possibility.
Well because until then. See you again in Germany.

Day 29 - Adelaide Shopping & McLaren Vale
Wir hatten heute einen ruhigen Tag. Am Vormittag haben wir der Rundle Mall einen ausführlichen Besuch abgestattet und die letzten Dinge eingekauft. Danach sind wir mit dem City Connector Bus auf Stadtrundfahrt gegangen. Wir konnte heute sehen, wie grün Adelaide doch ist. War sehr schön anzusehen.
Am Nachmittag sind wir dann ins McLaren Vale gefahren und haben uns dort einige Weingüter angesehen. Das Tal ist wirklich sehr schön anzusehen mit einem Weingut neben dem Anderen. Für den letzten Abend haben wir uns bei Rosemount Estate eine Flasche Shiraz mitgenommen, welchen es zu Hause nicht zu kaufen gibt. Wird bestimmt lecker.
Zum Ende unserer Reise zeigt sich das Wetter noch einmal von seiner besten Seite, so wie eigentlich die ganze Zeit. Nanette hat dann auch noch angerufen und wir haben uns schon mal verabschieden können, das werden wir am Mittwoch dann endgültig tun müssen. Aber bis dahin ist ja noch etwas Zeit.

We had an easy day today. In the morning we paid the Rundle Mall a detailed visit and bought the last things. Then we went on the City Connector bus to a city sightseeing tour. We could see how green Adelaide is yet today. Was very nice to look at.
In the afternoon we went to McLaren Vale and visited some wineries. The valley is really very beautiful with a vineyard next to the others. For the last evening we took a bottle of Shiraz from Rosemount Estate, which we can't buy at home. Determined delicious.
At the end of our trip, the weather is again at his best as the whole time. Nanette also called and we were able to say goodbye, we will need to do on Wednesday then final. But until then it is still some time.

Day 28 - Adelaide Hills, Glenelg
Gestern hatten wir von Kerry-Anne den Tipp bekommen, zum Barossa Reservoire und der Wispering Wall zu fahren. Das war ein sehr guter Tipp, die Fahrt dahin über die Adelaide Hills war wunderschön. Wir mussten nur sehr auf die Radfahrer auf den engen Straßen aufpassen.
Die Wispering Wall ist ein Staudamm, mit einer akustischen Besonderheit. Der Damm beschreibt fast einen vollständigen Halbkreis. Und man kann auf der einen Seite die Personen auf der anderen Seite reden hören. sogar flüstern, und das sind 100 m Luftlinie. War eine tolle Sache.
Am Nachmittag sind wir dann raus nach Glenelg, noch einmal den Strand und das Meer hier in Australien genießen.
Alles in Allem war es wieder ein schöner Tag. Wie der Zufall es so wollte, ist auch noch eine ehemalige Tänzerin aus meinem Verein in der Nähe. Die Welt ist doch klein. Vielleicht schaffen wir es ja, uns noch mal kurz zu treffen.

Yesterday we got the tip by Kerry-Anne to drive Barossa reservoirs and Wispering Wall. That was a very good tip, the journey through Adelaide Hills was beautiful. We only had to be very careful to cyclists on the narrow roads.
The Wispering Wall is a dam, with an acoustic feature. The dam almost describes a complete semicircle. And you can hear people talking on the one hand, the people on the other side. even whisper, and that is a 100 m distance. Was a great thing.
In the afternoon we went out to Glenelg, again enjoying the beach and the sea here in Australia.
All in all it was a beautiful day again. As luck would have it, there is a former dancer from my club nearby. The world is small. Maybe we can make it to meet her in Adelaide tomorrow.

Day 27 - Adelaide
Heute war eigentlich nur geplant, einzukaufen und dann ein Treffen mit Astrids Freundin bei uns. Allerdings wollte das Auto nicht anspringen und ich musste den Europe Car Service anrufen. Das hat auch alles prima funktioniert und nach ca. 20 Minuten war auch schon Hilfe vor Ort. Es war nur eine etwas schwache Batterie. Das Einkaufen hatte Astrid dann bereits per Bus erledigt. Gegen 13:00 Uhr kam dann wie verabredet Kerry-Anne vorbei. Wir müssen sagen, es war ein sehr kurzweiliger Nachmittag mit ihr. Wir haben uns bestens unterhalten. Am Dienstag werden wir ihr dann den Gegenbesuch abstatten. Wir freuen uns bereits drauf.
Am Abend haben wir dann die Steaks auf den Grill gelegt und genossen. Einfach Wow.

Today wey only planned to shop and then meet with Astrid's friend here at our house. However, the car would not start and I had to call the Europe Car service. This worked fine and after about 20 minutes I had an on-site assistance. It was just a little weak battery. The shopping was already done by Astrid, she took the bus. Around 13:00 came as arranged Kerry-Anne. We have to say it was a very entertaining afternoon with her. On Tuesday we will pay a return visit. We are already looking forward to it.
In the evening we then placed the steaks on the grill. Was delicious.

Day 26 - Adelaide
Die letzten Tage war ich nicht besonders fleißig im Schreiben Also muss ich das jetzt nachholen. Vorgestern haben wir uns noch etwas in Clare umgesehen und sind dann nach Mintaro aufgebrochen. Mintaro ist ist eine historische Wein Stadt, in der die Zeit förmlich stehen geblieben ist, ähnlich Walhalla. Zwei Weingüter ein Hotel und viele historische Gebäude. Leider ware der Mintaro Maze geschlossen.
Gegen Abend ging es dann mal wieder ans Koffer packen, denn am nächsten Tag war die Weiterreise nach Adelaide auf dem Plan.
Gestern morgen dann gab es erstaunlicher Weise mal keinen strahlend blauen Himmel und Sonnenschein, sondern grau in grau. War aber nicht tragisch, für die Fahrt ist das so angenehmer. Nach dem Frühstück fing es dann noch kurzzeitig leicht an zu regnen.
Da wir erst gegen 15:00 Uhr in unser Haus in Adelaide konnten, haben wir vorher in Tanunda (Barossa Valley) halt gemacht. Die Sonne hatte sich inzwischen wieder gegen den Regen durchgesetzt. Im Visitor Information Center wurde uns das Chateau Tanunda für einen Besuch und kleinen Snack incl. kleiner Weinprobe empfohlen. Der Snack war lecker, der Wein ebenfalls, das Ambiente sehr geschmackvoll, ansonsten lasse ich einfach mal die Bilder sprechen:
Dann ging es endlich weiter nach Adelaide. Unser Stadthaus, Thorn Park in the City, erwies sich als Glückstreffer. Wir hatten ja schon einige sehr gute Unterkünfte erwischt. Aber dieses Haus setzte noch einen oben drauf:
Den Weber Grill auf der Terrasse musste ich natürlich gleich ausprobieren. Jetzt brauche ich nur noch einen vernünftigen Metzger, denn das Fleisch aus dem IGA Supermarkt war nicht so gut.
Nach dem Frühstück heute waren wir dann zum Sightseeing, etwas Shoppen und Planung für die nächsten Tage in der Stadt. Hat sich gelohnt. Nur einen Metzger habe ich noch nicht.

The last few days I was not very diligent in writing so I have to do this now. The day before yesterday we had a little look around in Clare and then left for Mintaro. Mintaro is a historic wine town where time has stood still, similar like Walhalla. Two wineries, a hotel and many historic buildings. Unfortunately the Mintaro Maze ware closed.
Towards evening we went to pack case, because the next day the onward journey was to Adelaide.
Yesterday morning we had suddenly no bright blue skies and sunshine, but gray. But it was not tragic, for the journey it is more comfortable. After breakfast it began slightly raining.
Since we couldn't into our home in Adelaide until 15:00, we stopped previously in Tanunda (Barossa Valley). The sun had now re-enforced against the rain. In Visitor Information Center we were recommended visit the Chateau Tanunda incl. a snack and small wine tasting. The snack was delicious, the wine also, the ambiance very tasteful. Just take a look at the photos.
Then we went on finally to Adelaide. Our townhouse, Thorn Park in the City, proved a godsend. We had already caught some very good accommodation. But this house put another on top of it:
The Weber grill on the veranda I had to try for dinner. Now I just need a reasonable butcher, because the meat from the IGA supermarket was not so good.
After breakfast today we were sightseeing, some shopping and planning for the next few days in the city. Was worth it. But still looking for a butcher.
